A Hectic Start See Lions 3 Win Away and Lose Twice at Home
Lions 3 tipped off their season with a tough schedule, playing three games in just seven days. It was a rollercoaster week, with one victory and two difficult losses.
The first game saw the Lions take on Cromer Crabs in what turned out to be a nail-biting contest. Both teams went back and forth throughout, but the Crabs’ size and strength ultimately made the difference, as they narrowly defeated the Lions 60-55. Despite the loss, the Lions fought hard, showing plenty of promise.
A few days later, the Lions hit the road to face the young and energetic Beccles 2 team. Led by an impressive 22-point performance from McQueen, they managed to bounce back with a solid 74-65 win. It was a well-earned victory that gave the team a much-needed boost.
However, their third and final game of the week ended in disappointment. The Lions welcomed Silverbacks 2 and dominated for most of the game, winning the first three quarters and building a commanding 16-point lead going into the final quarter. But in a shocking turn of events, they were outscored 30-4 in the last 10 minutes, eventually losing 71-61.
After the Silverbacks game coach David said: "It's guttering to lose a game like that when leading for so long, but everyone will learn something from this game, including myself. We have a big gap until our next game, and I am certain when we get back on the court we will be a much better team"
With some moments of brilliance and tough lessons learned, Lions 3 will look to regroup as they push forward in their season, aiming for more consistency and strong performances ahead.
